The Bunny Hearings

The bunny ears return often enough to constitute a programme. Nico’s opinion of that programme is visible in several frames and should not require expert interpretation.

Occasionally he looks resigned. Occasionally he looks skyward as though seeking intervention from a higher authority. At least once he appears to be calculating whether everybody involved can be fired.

The ears remained pink throughout.

Red Seasonal Pajamas

The red pajamas solved a practical problem and created an aesthetic one. Nico was warm. Nico was also dressed head to toe in festive fleece while standing in a room that offered no meaningful escape from photography.

The expression is less objection than exhausted acceptance.

The trial was therefore technically successful and diplomatically catastrophic.

Blue Field Uniform

The blue field uniform is among the more elaborate items in the clothing archive. It has sleeves. It has a hood. It has a pattern that suggests someone had plans.

Nico wore it on exposed rock in weather that made the decision at least somewhat defensible.

The resulting photographs remain impossible to take completely seriously.

High-Visibility Coastal Garment

On a grey beach, the fluorescent coat performs exactly as advertised. Nico is impossible to lose in the landscape.

He is also standing on a small mound with the cape-like fabric trailing behind him, which makes basic rain protection look much more ceremonial than the manufacturer likely intended.

No rescue operation was required.

The Cereal Killer

Halloween produced one of the clearest cases in the archive. Nico appeared wearing a Cheerios box and, by the plain meaning of the evidence, became a cereal killer.

The costume involved cardboard, a black garment and a green straw positioned with the confidence of a design process that had already gone too far. Nico's expression suggests he understood none of the wordplay and approved of even less of the engineering.

No cereal was actually harmed during the investigation. The suspect was photographed and released.

The Hooded Rain Proceeding

The rain hood frames Nico’s face with a degree of seriousness the surrounding room does not support. He looks less like a dog dressed for weather than a witness entering protective custody.

Whether the hood improved comfort is not documented.

Whether it improved the photograph is settled.

The Western Affairs Appointment

At some point, a cowboy hat was placed on Nico. No appointment, election or western jurisdiction preceded the decision.

The hat was too large, the expression was extremely serious, and the resulting photograph acquired the administrative weight of an official portrait almost immediately.

No evidence suggests Nico requested the post. No evidence suggests he resigned from it either.

The Winter Uniform Trials

The cold-weather uniform program attempted to solve a legitimate problem and accidentally created this.

Nico was fitted with a blue body layer and a knitted hat featuring a pom-pom of questionable operational value. He remained motionless long enough for the photographic record to be created, an act later interpreted as either extraordinary patience or temporary disbelief.

The uniform kept him warm. The Archive therefore rates the trial technically successful and diplomatically catastrophic.
